In 2002, Randi expanded her interests to include television. Since then, she has written for national and local newscasts in Canada. She has also produced several short documentaries. One, a profile of Muslim female athletes, was included in the 2002-03 season premiere of the CBC show, Sports Journal.
Back for its sixth season, [Sports Journal] opens with two good segments. The first wonders aloud if scalping should become legal in [Toronto] as it is in Vancouver. The second documentary is better. It talks with Canadian athletes who, as Muslim women, usually decide to sacrifice pro careers in order to obey the Korans rules on physical modesty.
